I do apologize for not finding a suitable alternative to SwiftPlaygrounds last ‘semester’ while I was teaching the fundamentals of coding. This game will allow you to learn and practice simple coding.

Actually, all coding is simple, when you break it down to it’s component parts, so this program will do nicely.

I’ve done the first five levels of this game – and these levels, we talk about functions again – https://youtu.be/xugrFZ_KBzU – which is a group of coding that makes a game or program perform a specific function. We also added to our learning of functions by adding arguments – there is a turn function, and you can decide whether you turn left or right in them.

Functions are important to video games, because you can create all kinds of unique user experiences, including powers within your game to be called up when the player presses the right buttons.

Thanks for watching my video and making games great again. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to my channel and share this video with anybody interested in game development.

How to create a 3d humanoid character

#art #digitalart #3dart #rotoscoping #blender #blender3d #gamedevelopment#gamedev #gamedesign #gamedeveloper #indiegamedev

While I am not doing video tutorials on making a 3d character in this batch of episodes, I will be doing it in the next batch of episodes. So, if you want to start doing this early, this is how to start.

As per the drawing a character from scratch, https://www.bitchute.com/video/TyxRMYWij5Rn/, you must start with the face when you create a 3d character. Simply put, the face is the seat of the character. It shows the character’s personality, intention and mood.

When you start working on the character, you don’t have to really worry about making things exactly perfect, because you only have to do half the face in a layer based drawing app, because you can duplicate that layer and then flip it horizontally and then move it into a reasonable position with the least amount of gaps and overlap.

Once you have the front facing picture, you can use sketchbook pro to draw in some straight lines by duplicating the character and flipping it and drawing straight lines between the two characters, and then you can delete the other image and start drawing the side profile from those guide lines.

Remember in the side profile, the ear is about half way down between you the cheek and the back of your head.

Once you have both the pictures you can bring them into Blender as a reference picture, which I would put into the front Orthographic view and the Right Orthographic view for the side picture, and then you can start modelling the head from one side, because Blender has a mirror modifier tool.

In my next tutorial on modelling, I will start showing how to do this in Blender.

Welcome back to Make Gaming Great Again.

Last ‘semester’ was a bit of an idea, to see if I could start a game development channel on YouTube and BitChute and see if people thought it was valuable. While YouTube certainly has me in some kind of algorithm wilderness, BitChute has over 2000 views and gets more popular every single week I check its stats.

The most important lessons of the first semester is – don’t be afraid of coding, just learn the definitions and practice. Don’t be afraid of art, just use tutorials and get better, then start characters and caricatures from scratch to further your skills.

The whole 10,000 hour rule is all about learning, practicing what you learn, and then trying things and experimenting. If anything, this is the most important thing I think I could have taught anybody in the 24 videos for ‘Semester’ 1 – learn, practice, share and experiment.

This ‘semester’, we will be learning some more advanced things for sure, but it still comes down with learning, practicing, sharing and experimenting.

First, we will learn the principles of animation – 12 things you need to learn to bring your creations to life, be it 2d or 3d animation.

Second, we will learn Blender by creating the solar system. I also recommend you learn Blender Guru’s blender basics tutorial group, because I will teach much of the same stuff he is teaching, but you will be doing something different from what I am doing – he shows you how to make some donuts and a cup on a table, and I’m showing you how to create the Solar System, with the exact same lessons – something called lateral learning.

Third, I will be teaching you coding again through a new coding game that I just learned about. It has 11 levels, each with a more involved coding solution – perfect for practicing and gaining skills.

Thanks for the support and welcome to my ‘second’ semester, making games great again!

This week in Making Games Great Again – February 3rd, 2019

Wow, just one more day and I start my next batch of lessons in game design. The month was a huge one for me. From about 1400 views on BitChute to well over 2500 views – that’s over 1100 views in a month. If I keep those stats, I will be well over 13k by this year’s end – hopefully more – with all the cool stuff I am going to teach you over this year.

Thanks for all the support guys, and don’t forget to remind this post and give me a thumbs up. The more support I get, the better my work will become, that’s for sure. Anybody who supports my channel will definitely get all kinds of sneak previews of game footage and even game testing my game when it is almost done. And this helps me get my Game Development channel out there, so people don’t have to spend 40k, like I did, to become a game developer by taking animation or game development in college or university.

Looking at my work load, I expect I can get lots of work done on my game in the next few months, after I sat down and planned out my weeks until May. I will have many components made for the game, including a 3d Trolly, Trollette and Vaggy. I’ve never had Trolly done in 3d yet. He’s only been 2d drawing for the longest time – since 2015. . . I guess his first official birthday will be sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

But my main focus will always be teaching game development – which brings me to the next bunch of episodes that will focus on 3d and animation. I will be teaching Blender, so you might want to go to the linked website at the bottom of this text and download it today, while you are reading this. I will be teaching how to create the Solar System, and a little spaceship that will travel around in it, so we can learn all the capabilities of Blender with just learning the basics.

While you are going through my tutorials on making the solar system, which will teach you all the basics, going through Blender Guru’s beginner tutorial’s playlist will give you twice as much practice, and it will allow you to learn laterally as well – because you’re making donuts with his series, and the solar system with mine. Lateral learning is important, I was able to create most of my tutorials by learning from his tutorials. I add a couple of other parts to my tutorials go above and beyond his beginner tutorials, and only towards the end.

I’ll also be teaching the principles of animation, which I am also linking at the bottom of this text. It will give you the basic definitions of each principle, and I will go more in depth in each lesson to provide some real context and examples of these principles. These are vitally important in creating awesome video games. The more exaggerated and expressive the movement, the better it actually reads as reality, so this is a vitally important lessons, whether you decide on 2d or 3d gaming!

I’m also making going to go through a new coding game with everybody called Virtual Coder – Sumerian, which I am linking below. The more practice we can get for all these tasks the better you will get. Again, this is that lateral learning stuff – if you’ve gone through SwiftPlaygrounds and through this game, than you have twice as much practice by applying ideas and concepts.

Now, following the @thequartering here on Minds and YouTube, I know there is a bit of a discussion on the new Epic Games store, and I don’t want to get involved in Internet Drama at all, but his stance can be pretty negative. As a aspiring game developer, my games will be on Epic Games store – simply because I hope to make a little money on it. I don’t expect millions, so every penny I can save will be passed onto my customers, and used to pay my rent, bills and groceries.

I know they don’t have user reviews by default, but you can opt-in, which is probably a click somewhere – so I will always have user reviews. I invite people to critique me if it helps me improve my work. Besides, I get to be the alpha who gets to make fun of the betas on the store, who hide behind opt-outs!

Hopefully, my thoughts can help him see that he shouldn’t pass judgement so quickly on the Epic store or the developers who choose to use it, being as cynical as he is.

Thanks for supporting me and making games great again!

Blender Updates

As I have stated, I have been working with Blender over the past month and a half. It is a remarkably powerful program – and it’s free. I am working on creating a project to create the solar system, which is how I am going to show you the basics of Blender.

This render is of the Earth, fully textured, with an environment texture for the star fields around it.

This is the planet from a different camera angle, with some asteroids in the backgrounds, barely seen.

Here is the solar system without proper light, but the creation of the asteroid fields using particles.

This is the Earth, the moon and the Space Ship I am going to show you how to model in improper lighting.

Here is the Earth, which is very dark – due to improper lighting.

This is the Earth, with just materials, with a couple of planets in the background.

This is the MAGA ship.

This is the MAGA ship without engines and without blasters.

Some wisdom from Carl Sagan about how small we are.

Here’s some more wisdom from Carl Sagan.

I started this meme after the MAGA covington event!

The original planet placement, with all planets, with just the Earth selected, the tiny little orange dot.

MGGA – The Differences Between YouTube and BitChute

Full Vid –

If you are an aspiring game developer, and you hope to get more awareness of your game as soon as possible, starting early counts. When your game is only in planning stages, and this is your first baby, get it out there.

The video platform is an important part of this. I am sharing my experience of using BitChute vs using YouTube. The differences are quiet stark, with BitChute having almost 4 times more views than YouTube at this point.

BitChute has several ways for people to find your videos, which makes it much easier to get subscribers and people to view your video, which is what marketing is all about.

This week in Making Games Great Again – Jan. 27th, 2019

Since last Friday/Saturday, I’ve had one really wild ride. The MAGA kid, working on the newest episodes for Make Gaming Great Again, the world on GamerGate Trolls. I’ve had a really busy week, my first week back from vacation. Well, I got what I wanted to get done – the first three Blender lessons recorded, and a bunch of other lessons all scripted out. I’m changing my format a bit – adding a Syllabus to each lesson – telling you what we are going to learn today. Some of them are simple, and others – like Blender, are going to be really complex.

Some of the Blender videos are going to be over an hour long, but you will gets lots of practice in making something amazing when we build the solar system together.

If you didn’t realize that we all live on a planet represented by that little orange dot, well now you do. Life is too short and the planet is too small to do anything but do our best to help each other.

Here’s a render of the planet – not perfect, because it just uses materials, and the moon needs to be behind the planet as well, not in front of it.

I’m putting all of these lessons together so people don’t have to spend 40k on an education to get into animation or get into game development. Every single time you share this post, or one of my posts, you are going to help someone who is thinking about game development save money by not going to college. I want kids, like the MAGA kids, to know about my work and produce video games, with conservative messages in them – fighting off socialism and the authoritarian left. That way, the hacks that use to work at Buzzfeed are responding to us, running for their safe spaces, instead of always responding to them.

We need to take back our culture, and culture is defined by the media is consumes. We need to create a more balanced media, in movies, TV shows, games, video games, books and anything that educates and entertains.

You can help me do that by reminding this post today on your social media account, commenting and up voting it. And the people who consistently help me, and sending me wires on Minds, I will make sure you get all kinds of perks – including streaming the game on Minds through the gathering P2P streaming feature that is in beta right now!

On my game front, I’ve almost got the main villain all drawn up. I’m not going to give away who the character is right now, that’s going to be the big twist in the game. Over the next couple of months, I will be working on character after character – drawing full character sheets and fleshing out the character information – but I expect I will be able to start working on 3d characters fairly soon – I should have all the Blender lessons recorded within the next couple of weeks, which means I will focus on GamerGate Trolls characters by following other blender tutorials that I will put up before the next semester.

I’m more than half way through with the world section – writing that is. After that, I am going to do some concept art on the areas. You’re going to just love how I am going to do the Corrupt News Websites area – you will definitely just burst out laughing!

I can definitely see a story brewing up in my mind – how the game will work, the visuals involved. It’s going to be hilarious.
