Drawing a human body can take practice, and sometimes you don’t have it right. No worries though, with digital art, it is only a few clicks of a mouse or a flick of your stylus to erase what you find wrong and redo it.

Remember, the face ratio is 50/50/50 – halfway down the face is the eye line, halfway down that is the nose line, and halfway down that is the mouth line. Once you have your face all proportioned, the body falls right down from the face.

At 2 head lengths, a woman’s breasts are seated. The chest starts at about 1.25 heads down, and goes to 2.5 heads down and is 2 heads wide, including the shoulders. The hips are 2.25 heads wide and start at 3 heads down and go down to the 4th head down.

Arms are about 2.5 heads tall, and start at the top portion of the chest. Legs start half way down the Hips, at about 3.5 heads down, and go down to the full 7 heads tall character height.

After you have that skeleton in, feel free to draw in a sketch of the character to get everything looking natural and then ink the character in a add the proper colouring.

So ends our lessons on drawing a character from scratch. From here you should be able to draw any character you want out of your head. Just keep on practicing. Have patience, you’re not going to be perfect. In fact Vincent Van Gogh would destroy 90% of his paintings before he had one he was proud of, so if it takes you 9 tries before you get a character right, don’t worry.

Make Gaming Great Again, Dec. 30th, 2018

Wow, it’s almost the end of the year. What a year of both hope on the horizon and utter disappointment. We have our work ahead of us, to ensure the hope we see in the future with all the endeavours that are going on.

I recently heard that a YouTube lawyer is going to write an official FTC complaint against Patreon and PayPal for attacking Subscribe Star. I’m really excited to see the process. Though it could take months before things can happen, this could change things around for all of us. I wish him all the luck. He says he wants his subscribers, which I am sure, he has much more of, to help him out because this is going to take a community effort. I can’t overstate how important this is to our cause. The elites want us bowing down to them, licking their boots for some scraps from their table. We need to fight back to ensure the playing field is even.

Speaking of this licking of the boots mentality, Blizzard has yet again proven why I need to teach game development and make a video game development company myself. Blizzard is setting up to Ban Players who are too ‘toxic’ on twitch, despite the fact their fans may have spent $1000s on their games over the past 20 years, they are treating their customers like a bunch of entitled scumbags. The levels of bullshit I am seeing is beyond amazing. When I create GamerGate Trolls and put it out on the market, I’ll be happy with just the $10 you pay for it.

It goes to show that we do need gaming companies and websites that just don’t go down the rabbit hole of shoving politics down our throats, but treat gamers with respect. It’s those gamers who do give us a job! Which is why I am a proud supporter of Exclusively Games. It’s time to push politics out of the media we love.

As I stated last week, I will be slowing down my work a little bit. I’m going to finish up my last two videos on art this week, finishing up the drawing a character from scratch videos, and the video on how to do caricatures.

Also, this week, I’m going to finish up using the Blender Tutorials and I’ll be releasing the renders after each part. After this, I’m going to look into teaching all of you how to use Blender, which is an open source and free 3d software, by helping all of you create the Solar System and creating a small spaceship, and making an animation of the space ship going throughout the solar system with President Trump talking about the Space Force.

I’ll also try to create a trailer for GamerGate Trolls, which I am aiming to have finished in June 1st, before the Canadian Federal Election, because PM JT is going to be in it, being an idiot as usual.

So, here’s to the New Year. Thanks for all the support to Make Gaming Great Again.

Vagnita Suckeesian Character Sheet

You can’t have a parody of GamerGate and Internet Drama without making Anita Sarkeesian, or at least a caricature of her, as the main enemy of the game, which gave birth to Vagnita Suckeesian.

I was inspired by Disney and other cartoon villains, like the Grinch (I’ll give you 3 guesses which emotion was inspired by him), while at the same time, looking at Anita’s way over dyed and damaged hair, which I am contemplating is going to be part of her attack style.

Vaggy, of course, is out to censor the entire Internet, cleansing it of any idea, video, blog or game that disagrees with her narrow Ideology.

Array Definition –

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Array_data_structure

This is the final introduction to coding video I am creating, Introduction to Arrays. Arrays are databases that contain data inside of them. In game design, this could be used to generate random opponents in random places, defined by an array of enemies that can appear on the map, and another array with spawning locations for those random enemies. With a function, you could randomize which enemy is going to spawn in which place because Arrays are numbered.

Since this is my last episode for coding, I’ll cover the rest of the lessons from SwiftPlaygrounds through solutions videos while talking about some basics on how this would apply to Game Development, but many of their lessons are strictly SwiftPlaygrounds lessons which allow you to gain some more experience in coding. My first such lesson will be on the Array puzzles next week.

Starting in February, I’m going to start to work on lessons on 3d modelling using Blender for art lessons. I’ve already see how I am going to accomplish this, I’ll teach you all how to make the Solar System and a little spaceship flying through it. SpaceForce FTW! I will create a little animation through Blender over the next three months to show you how to do all of this.

Thanks for supporting my channel over the past three months and Making Games Great Again!

Once you understand the basic ratio of the face – 50/50/50 – halfway down the face you get the eye line, halfway down that you get the nose line and halfway down that you get the mouth line, you can start drawing characters from different angles.

All you need to do is make a new layer in your drawing tool, and block out those lines and then start angling the face in the way you want, side profile, 45 degree angle, slightly tilted.

I’ve included brand new drawings and tutorials on the drawing heads folder on my facebook group, so if you want to go there and download them that will help you out like it helped me out.

Next week, I will finalize drawing a character from scratch, looking at how to draw a full body character from different angles.

This week in Make Gaming Great Again Dec. 23rd, 2018

It’s almost the end of the year, and everything is almost done for both Make Gaming Great Again basic videos, I only have three more videos for Art and 1 for Coding – creating Arrays, so expect those videos out this week and next week, one on Monday and a second on Friday for the next little while. GamerGate Trolls pre-work is almost done. I only need to get the rest of Vagnita Suckeesian (thanks for the suggestion @shcode) and one last character, the hooded figure. Just to let people know, GamerGate Trolls will be a trilogy.

For all you loyal subscribers, who are commenting, up voting and reminding my content, thank you so much. I will be offering all kinds of different things for you, including a free demo version of my game before I make it. When I have levels created, I will also give you free access to test it and provide any kind of feedback you want. I want to make sure, unlike companies like EA and Blizzard, my customers, all of you, are valued.

On the free speech front, I recognize how much people are looking at the shitty practices of PayPal and other services are. I’m wondering if going after them with a lawsuit would work. I know they are huge, but if we can take our David stands, we can defeat this giant, exposing their shitty bullshit to the world.

Let’s not forget we can do this, we can fight back. We can make a difference. If we decide that we’ve had enough of the bullying and abuse of big tech, then we can defeat them like the Yellow Vests are changing our countries.

Happy Holidays everybody!

While I took animation at college, the game teacher only had one thing to say about designing a UI – look at other popular games and copy what you think is awesome about their user interfaces, because other players probably think the same thing.

If you make your UI so complicated and confusing, most players will not play your game, so think about simplicity in design.

The more simplistic the UI for combat the better, as most players only use 3-4 powers on a consistent basis anyways. Having 10 slots to choose from may be way too much for the player and lead to less fluid game play.

For the next couple of weeks, I’m slowing down production for Christmas and New Years. I’ll only put a video up on Tuesday and Friday for the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for watching and Making Games Great Again.
