Exaggeration allows animators and game developers to have fun with their audience and create really funny and entertaining content. The more you exaggerate the more natural an animation looks compared to when you just go completely stiff in your animations.

As my old martial art sensei said, make big movements, be energetic, go it with all your might.

This week in Make Gaming Great Again, April 7th, 2019

This week’s progress was minimal. I got sick pretty badly on Wednesday Morning. I’m amazed I actually got the Cutscene video out this week. My head was swimming while I recorded it.

For all you weekend GameDevs, here’s my newest tutorials, enjoy –

Because of my illness, I decided watching NetFlix was a better idea than working on Trolly this week. With that being said, I did have some progress this week. All writing for Game Design Manual for GamerGate Trolls is done for this pass of work. Yay!

And I got some drawings done for Anonymous done as well. It felt good.

Onto just drawing for the rest of the month, and probably some more drawings in May.

For the next phase, I can see having lessons on Blender and character creation, Xcode for iOS game programming, and the Unreal Engine for level design and game development. It’ll probably be 30+ videos again. Yay. That block will start in June.

I will probably do some prep work videos as well – showing how to create the kinds of task lists for your video game – yay. I guess I need to start creating that task list next month as prep work for GameGate Trolls.

Thanks for the support. I surpassed 10k views on BitChute this week, thanks to everybody who is supporting me.

Introducing Anonymous

In the Internet, nobody needs to know your name, and that’s exactly how Anonymous likes it. She is a figure hidden by obscurity of the organization Anonymous, sneaking into all kinds of places that people think are totally hidden from view.

Today we’re going to download the sound packages within Codea and then we’re going to add them to our cutscene to enhance how awesome it is.

Since animals and humans move around from joints, basically hinges, we all move in arcs. Even if you were to look at your arm stretching forth, there is a bit of an arc involved in that movement, so we need to start to become aware of that in the animation process.

Today, we learn this important part of the principles of animation, helping us plan out paths and making sure our animations look as natural as we can possibly make it.

MGGA – Principles of Animation 6 – Ease in and Ease out – S2L18

Full video –

Principles of Animation

https://www.evl.uic.edu/datsoupi/251/docs/12AnimationPrinciples.pdf

Today we’re going to learn one of the biggest principle of animation – ease in and ease out. All kinds of animations have ease in and ease out, where the animator slows the initial movements of an animation, speed up the central part and slow the termination of the action.

Whether it is computer animation programs doing that for you, or artists drawing more drawings at the beginning and end, with few drawings in the middle of the animation, this is an important principle to follow.

Now we start to get right into the realism part of 3d. Up until now, our scene looked very ‘3d/CG’. It didn’t look like anything that resembled reality at all. Today that changes, when we start working with textures, instead of materials.

Materials may work with somethings, but as a 100% mathematical consistent shade, you can never get the gradients that you would want, which is why we have textures – the ability to show details on the smallest scale – from oceans, ice caps, and dry land!
